The Western Area

Surfing, Jefferies Bay Jefferies Bay; St Francis Area; Oyster Bay
From the Storms River Valley and the wooded forests of the Tsitsikamma to the surfers paradise of Jefferies Bay. This region lies between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, the Eastern side of South Africa's famous Garden Route and the Western side of the Eastern Cape.
 
A short drive of approximately one hour from Port Elizabeth offers the tourist a vast array of seaside destinations. The larger towns of Jefferies Bay and The St Francis areas are supported by a myriad of interesting destinations. Oyster Bay; Aston Bay; Paradise Beach Port St Francis and Kini Bay are all quaint resort villages offering an array of accommodation choices for the visitor.
 
With a family beach holiday as your goal, there can't be many places in the world better than this. Supported by a moderate climate with sunshine throughout the year, golf courses, a diverse array of tourism activities and some of the safest swimming beaches in the country, this is a prime destination for a family holiday.
 
St Francis Bay, Cape St Francis, Port St Francis
Established by the late Leighton Hulett some 50 years ago and named after the Patron Saint of Sailors, this area has developed into one of the finest resort areas along our coast. Up-market, well designed and a holiday makers paradise. It doesn't matter if you are after a marina environment; river or beach...you will find it all here. A "village" style shopping area with a "Spar" super-market, a lovely coffee shop and a few restuarants are locally available. The golf couse is interesting, well turned out and visitors are welcome at all times. A 30 minute drive to Oyster Bay; Jefferies Bay and Humansdorp.
 
The St Francis Bay area draws holiday makers form around the world to enjoy the sunny beaches abd the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Whether it's a bit of adventure you seek, or simply for a little rest and relaxation, you'll find just what you're looking for in St Francis.
 
Jefferies Bay
Many years ago, Jefferies Bay was nothing but a tiny fishing village where a few fishing skiffs were launched, the beaches covered in shells and hardly a soul (or house) to be seen. Today, Jefferies is a different story, if you're after a combination holiday, of beaches combined with all the city ameneties, you will enjoy jefferies Bay.
 
Offering all the modern stores and restuarants, the surf-fashion factory shops of "Billabong"; "Quicksilver" and a few others, and the internationally renowned surfing spots of Bruces' Beauties and Supertubes
 
Holiday choices are vast and varied, from luxurious homes on water marinas to small fishing cottages along the coast. The Keurbooms and Kromme River nearby allow for numerous water based activities.
