Recently restored under the guidance of fourth generation owners Freddie and Kathy de Wet, EXCELSIOR MANOR GUESTHOUSE consists of 9 luxurious country suites each named after famous thoroughbreds and hackneys previously bred on Excelsior Estate.

All rooms incorporate the style and graciousness of yesteryear with the comfort and convenience of modern living. The large garden offers many old trees and a refuge of hedged in tranquillity with fragrant old roses and a rose labyrinth to restore one’s soul.

How to get there


From Cape Town

Take the N1 to Worcester. Turn into Worcester and follow sign posting to Robertson. Pass through Robertson and continue past circle. About 10 km beyond the circle, there will be a right turn to Bonnievale- turn right here.

Once across the railway line continue for another 3 km (you will pass a school and cottages on your left), just beyond this turn left into Excelsior.

From Swellendam (N2):

From the N2 at Swellendam turn left at the Ashton turn off. Pass through Ashton, about 7 km outside of Ashton you will see a left turn to Bonnievale- turn left here. Once across the railway line continue for another 3 km (you will pass a school and cottages on your left), just beyond this turn left into Excelsior.
