The accommodation is self-catering and can sleep up to 5 people (1 double bedroom, 2 single bunk beds, and a single bed in the lounge). The cottage is private and comfortable with a large deck overlooking the farmlands and mountains. The views are stunning and the cottage is peaceful and romantic. PET FRIENDLY

Attractions

There are lovely vistas, and plenty of activities including hiking, cycling (mountain biking and road cycling), 4X4 trails, tractor rides and many many more.

VREDENSHOOGTE is a working organic fruit farm 24km outside Montagu and close to the famous Route 62.

 

Special Features

Heaters are provided for those cold winter nights, and there is a lovely fireplace in the lounge. A fan is provided for the warm weather.

A hammock is strung on the veranda for those warm summer afternoons and there are braai facilities outside.

How to get there


From the Robertson / Montagu side

Head out of Montagu on the R318, past the Avalon Springs, for 24.5km. At the foot of the Burgers Pass turn left onto a dirt road at the sign for VREDENDAL ( also a sign for Vredendal Keisie Huisie). Follow the signs for DEW COTTAGE.

From the N1 Side

If you're travelling on the N1 from Cape Town, turn right at the Montagu R318 sign, after De Doorns and the Hex River Pass. After 56km and two passes, at the bottom of the Burgers Pass, just after the small bridge, turn right onto a dirt road at the signs.
